SOLD: 1954 Aston Martin DB 2/4 Mk1.History:
London Aston Martin Agent Cyril Williams delivered LML841 on 30/11/1954 to a Mr. Peter Wynne, Esq. of Wolverhampton. In 1959 Cyril Williams replaced the original engine with a 3 litre unit. LML841 was then raced in BRDC events at Silverstone and other English circuits and on RAC Rally in late 1950's and 1960's.In the early 1970's Mr. Eugene Renberg of Wisconsin imported LML841 into the US. Mr. Renberg was the owner and caretaker until the Spring of 1988. During his ownership he carried out a sympathetic restoration. Aston specialist Ken Boyd in Needles, California, purchased LML841 in 1988 and had the car trucked to California. When the Aston was being transported across the country a man in Texas stopped the driver and asked who owned the car. He called Ken and worked out a deal on the spot. The car then passed through several owners in Texas and California. Classic Aston dealer Robert Burt and collector Pierre Honegger bought LML841 in the 1990's. The last owner, a well known Aston Martin Owner's Club official, purchased LML841 from Pierre Honegger in 2000.
LML841 is primarily a stock DB 2/4 that has been fettled and improved for safety for occasional use in historic racing events. During the most ownership, it has been driven on road tours and at the AMOC NA East Lime Rock events. It has participated in historic racing events including the Lime Rock Vintage Fall Festival and in select VSCCA events.
LML841 has been maintained and improved for last 10 years by Aston Martin experts Steel Wings. The car retains all the charisma and character one would expect from a vintage Aston with racing history back to the 1960s.
